Free weights are heavy and demanding. Warm up, lift with good form, and use a spotter or a rack's safety catches for heavy barbell work; put the collars on before you lift. Load and unload a bar evenly and keep fingers clear of the sleeves and plates. Don't drop bumper plates from overhead except onto a rated lifting platform. A rack must be assembled to the instructions and bolted to the floor where specified, and used within its stated load rating. Set a lifting platform on a sound, level floor. Store plates and bars on a rack so they can't topple onto feet, and keep children away from loaded bars and weight stacks. This is fitness equipment, not a medical device; if you are new to lifting, returning from injury, or have a back problem or any other health concern, ask your doctor before starting a new programme and stop if anything hurts. The statutory 14-day right of withdrawal applies to consumers.
